概述

Tungsten and rhenium alloy wire which is made with addition of different content of rhenium metal into the tungsten base body is the most ideal material of thermocouple for contact temperature measuring with temperature above 1600℃. The tungsten and rhenium electrode wire has properties of high melting point (3300℃), low vapor pressure and a good chemical stability in non oxidizing air and it also has a greater electric potential, high sensitivity and very low cost comparing to the traditional platinum and rhodium thermocouple wires. The tungsten and rhenium wire is widely used as thermocouples in field of high temperature measurement and the temperature measurement in steel production.

Rhenium and tungsten wire with a rhenium content as high as 25% not only has the characteristic of high melting point, but also has very good toughness and a good chemical stability in non oxidizing atmosphere and will not easily cause secondary contamination under high temperature, so tungsten and rhenium wire is also the best material of binding wire for tungsten heating cage in the sapphire crystal growth furnace with operating temperature of 2200℃.
